Vytenis Andriukaitis
Health & Food Safety Commissioner

1990 to 2004 and 2008 to 2012 – Member of Seimas (Lithuanian Parliament).
2012 to 2014 – Minister of Health of Lithuania.

Holds degrees in medicine and history.
One of the founders of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania.

Rytis Martikonis
Director-General, Directorate-General for Translation

Started diplomatic career in 1992.
Worked in various subdivisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
In 1999 appointed as a Director of European Integration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
2001 to 2003 was a Deputy Head of Lithuania‘s delegation for the EU accession negotiations.
2001 to 2004 – State Secretary in the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) 2005 to 2010 served as the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the EU.

Holds degrees in law, political science and international relations. Studied in Lithuania, the United States, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Jolita Butkevičienė
Director for Latin America and Caribbean, Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development

Spent 13 years working at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in the area of negotiations on services trade and services development.
In 2007 joined the European Commission. Has since undertaken different management positions.

Formal background and experience – in the field of quantitative economics and international trade law and negotiations.

Kęstutis Sadauskas
Director for Green Economy, Directorate-General for Environment

Started diplomatic career in 1993.
Worked in Lithuanian embassies in Brussels and New York.
In 2006 appointed as Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 2010 joined the European Commission as the Head of the Cabinet of Commissioner Šemeta.

Holds degrees in international relations and geography.

Vygaudas Ušackas
European Union Ambassador to the Russian Federation

Started diplomatic career in 1991.
1992 to 1996 – Counsellor to the Lithuanian Mission to both the EU and NATO.
1996 to 1998 – Political Director of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
1998 to 2000 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, in 1999 appointed as the Chief Negotiator for Lithuania’s Accession to the European Union.
2001 to 2006 – Ambassador to the United States of America and United Mexican States.
2008 to 2010 – the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
In 2010 appointed as the EU Special Representative and the Head of Delegation of the EU to Afghanistan.
In 2013 appointed to his current position of EU Ambassador to the Russian Federation

Holds degrees in law and political science.

Kęstutis Jankauskas
Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM)

1991 to 2011 worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. Worked in Lithuanian embassies in Sweden, USA and Brussels, also served as a Chancellor of the Lithuanian MFA.
2011 to 2014 was a Permanent Representative of Lithuania to NATO.
Appointed as Head of EUMM Georgia in 2014.

Speaks English, German, Russian, Swedish and French.
Holds degree in history.

Arnoldas Pranckevičius
External Policies Adviser, Cabinet of the President, European Parliament

2004 to 2005 – internal affairs adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus.
Started working in European Parliament in 2006.
Currently responsible for Eastern Partnership, European Neighbourhood Policy East, EURONEST, Russia, Baltic Strategies, Western Balkans, Asia (AFET).

Leads the Lithuanian community in Belgium. Founder and moderator of Brussels Debate Club.
Holds degrees in international relations and political science.

 

Daiva Jakaitė
Head of European Parliament Information Office in Vilnius, Lithuania

1997 to 2007 worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and European Committee under the Government.
Appointed to current position in 2007.

Court of Justice

Egidijus Jarašiūnas
Judge, Court of Justice of the European Union

1979 to 1990 engaged in legal practice.
1988 to 1990 – Member of Parliament of the Lithuanian SSR.
1990 to 1996 – deputy of the Supreme Council (later – Seimas). Worked on the Lithuanian Constitution of 1992.
1996 to 2005 – judge of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania.

Professor of Public Law.
Signatory of the Act of Independence of Lithuania.

Egidijus Bieliūnas
Judge, General Court of the Court of Justice of the European Union

1992 to 1996 served as counsellor at the Lithuanian Embassies in Belgium and France.
1999 to 2011 – judge at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Lithuania.
2011 to 2013 –judge at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania.
Appointed to the General Court in 2013.

Holds degree in law.

European Court Of Auditors

Gailė Dagilienė
Director, European Court of Auditors (ECA)

1994 to1998 worked in Kaunas City Municipality as the Head of Foreign Relations.
1998 to 2000 worked in the Ministry of Public Administration Reforms and Local Authorities as the Head of European Integration.
2000 to 2004 worked in Kaunas County Governor’s administration as the Director of Regional Development department; was delegated to represent Kaunas County in Brussels, accredited as attaché adjoint for regional development to the Lithuanian Permanent Mission to the EU.
2004-2006 worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs as the Director of Regional Policy department and as the Undersecretary responsible for regional policy, civil service and public administration.
2006 to 2013 served as the Director at the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union.
2013 until today works as the Director at the European Court of Auditors (SG 3 Directorate).

Holds degree in Roman-Germanic languages, certificate in Public administration, honorary Research Fellowship title from Cardiff University (Wales). 

Rasa Budbergytė
Member of the Court

Worked in ministries of International Economic Relations, Justice and Internal Affairs, also the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
2005 to 2010 – auditor General at the National Audit Office of the Republic of Lithuania.
Appointed to current position in 2010.

Holds degree in civil law.

Virginia Langbakk
Director of European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE)

1992 to 1994 worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
Spent 10 years working in Sweden with local/ regional authorities.
2008 to 2009 – Deputy Director at Department for Management and Methods in Development with co-operation of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Appointed to current position in 2009.

Holds degree in Roman-Germanic Languages.
